Introduction to scriptwriting for theatre
Calling all budding scriptwriters! Do you have creative ideas, a passion for theatre and the enthusiasm to develop original material?
This programme of classes will look to inspire and encourage the development of original script writing skills. You’ll take your original ideas and work with an industry specialist to get them onto paper before having the opportunity to see your words come to life on stage.
Starting in January 2017, classes will take place on Monday from 6.00pm to 7.30pm for 12 to 16 years.
Adult Acting Class
Have you always been curious about how an actor trains and prepares for life on stage and screen?
Gala Theatre are delighted to offer adult acting classes giving older students an opportunity to explore actor training in a mature and friendly environment. You’ll look at how to build an authentic character and receive training in relation to voice and the use of the body. You’ll be given the opportunity to study, rehearse and perform published plays from some of the greatest writers of all time as well as being able to devise and develop your own original production ideas.
Starting in January 2017, classes will take place on Mondays from 7.30pm to 9.00pm.
Our holiday workshops are open to all children aged from 8-18. You do not need previous dancing, singing or acting ability and do not need to have attended one of our Gala Theatre Stage Schools. You just need enthusiasm and a willingness to give it a go. No auditions are required. New holiday workshops will be announced on this page, or for more information, please email Kate Sorahan, Theatre Education Officer.
This is a chance to tread the boards on the set of our Gala Theatre Stage School and pantomime productions alongside some of the creative team of these fantastic shows. Participants will learn a dance from the show, have an insight into the technical running of the production and get a chance to see our make-up artist in action, when they demonstrate their work on a couple of willing volunteers from the group. New production workshops will be announced on this page.
