The Muddy Choir
Thursday 1 November
Led by Theatre Centre’s company members, these workshops provide students with opportunities to engage with the text through practical activities and exercises used in the rehearsal process. Recommended for Year 9 students upwards, the workshops examine the playful dynamic between characters and situations, and embeds the clear and robust curriculum links within the play.

Two – Production Workshop
Thursday 4 October, 10.00am – 1.00pm
Schools and community groups are welcome to join us for a chance to tread the boards and work on the set of Gala’s autumn production, Two.
The workshop includes a behind the scenes tour, giving an insight into the technical running of the show, plus a chance to explore the creative process of getting the play from script to stage and examine the important themes raised in the play.

Anyone can attend these sessions – no experience needed and you don’t have to be a member of GTSS.
Gala Big Band
Tuesdays 7.00pm – 9.00pm, Age 12+, free
Gala Big Band boasts an unrivalled swing repertoire, so if you’re a musician with a passion for the untraditional why not get involved? Our welcoming community band meets fortnightly, supporting a diverse range of amateur and semi-pro musicians from 12 to 85. Gala Big Sing
Mondays 6.00pm – 8.00pm, from Monday 20 November.
This autumn we will be running our very first Pop-Up Choir with experienced vocal leader Beccy Owen. This will be a series of 8 singing workshops, welcoming people of all ages, backgrounds, musical abilities and tastes. We will work a cappella (without any instrumental accompaniment) and have loads of fun. The emphasis is on enjoyment, not perfection. Beginners are welcome and you do not need to be able to make every week to take part. All resources and instruction provided.
