Super Swinging 60s & 70s

These talented local students are delighted to be returning to Gala for a wonderful evening of entertainment, as they take a whistle-stop tour of two great decades of music. Whether it’s the swinging sixties, or the sweet sound of the seventies that you love, join the students for a night of timeless classics from the days when music was in its prime.

By Durham High School for Girls

Gala are delighted to welcome Durham High School back for their annual musical, as this year they present the timeless story of the boy who refused to grow up. Based on J.M Barrie’s original play, with permission from Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, this musical adventure is an adaptation by Willis Hall. With pirates, mermaids, a crocodile and a little magic fairy dust, this promises to be an enchanting performance for the whole family. Music and lyrics by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe.

  Elves & The Shoemaker

After the sell-out successes of Three Little Pigs and TV adaptations for CBeebies, Northern Ballet present their latest ballet for children. A poor and kind-hearted shoemaker receives some much-needed help when his last piece of leather is transformed into a magnificent and magical pair of shoes overnight. Who is the mysterious maker of these marvellous shoes? Retelling the famous Brothers Grimm story, this is the perfect opportunity to introduce your little ones to live ballet, music and theatre. These child friendly performances will last approximately 40 minutes.

The Wizard of Oz

We’re off to see… the most magical adventure of them all. This enchanting classic is developed from the popular MGM screenplay and contains all your favourite characters and all the best songs from the Oscar-winning movie score. Follow the yellow brick road and join Scarecrow, Tin Man, Lion, Dorothy and her little dog Toto, as they journey through the magical land of Oz, to meet the Wizard and obtain their heart’s desires. But watch out for the Wicked Witch of the West and her winged monkeys, as you enjoy this fantastic musical treat for all the family.

Starring Captain Barnacles, Kwazii and Peso, the brand new stage show, Octonauts and the Deep Sea Volcano Adventure brings the entire crew of the Octonauts to life on stage for the very first time. Visit amazing underwater worlds full of adventure, with surprises around every corner, in this action-packed, musical, interactive new show.
