Originally conceived for television starring Marti Webb, Tell Me On A Sunday has been performed by legendary musical theatre stars Sarah Brightman, Lulu and Denise Van Outen. Now Claire Sweeney takes on this celebrated role which features a wonderful score and the chart topping hit Take That Look Off Your Face, Unexpected Song and the title track Tell Me On a Sunday.
Tell Me On A Sunday charts the romantic misadventures of a young English girl newly arrived in New York. Brimming with optimism, she seeks success, companionship and love. But as she weaves her way through the maze of the city and her own anxieties, frustrations and heartaches, she begins to wonder whether - in fact - she's been looking for love in all the wrong places.

Bridie’s childhood travelling around Europe, led to the discovery of Fado, an emotive and theatrical Portuguese Flamenco tradition that became an important influence in her music. A powerful performer with an otherwordly voice, support slots with John Smith, Nick Harper and Cara Dillon have helped develop her reputation as an impulsive live act. Using improvisation and experimenting with different genres and collaborations, she incorporates multiple harmonies, a cappella singing, and most recently, a violin, bassoon and guitar ensemble.

A rare evening in the company of Rick Wakeman, his piano and a bunch of ridiculous anecdotes. Musician, storyteller and stalwart of BBC TV’s Grumpy Old Men, Rick’s membership of the huge 1970’s Prog Rock band Yes elevated him to the status of rock royalty. He’s here to play a few old favourites and share a few stories in his one man show. After the huge success of his recent concerts at Hampton Court Palace with The Six Wives of Henry VIII, we’re honoured that Rick is visiting Durham.
