Access
The Gala is fully accessible throughout.
There is easy access to the auditorium with lifts to the upper
levels. Accessible toilets are located throughout the building.
If you are a wheelchair user advise the Box Office when
reserving your tickets to ensure seats are allocated
accordingly. Wheelchair places are situated in the Stalls and
Circle - we request disabled patrons have an able bodied
companion, whose ticket is free.

We operate the Sennheiser infra red amplification system.
Headsets are available at the Box Office. Guide Dogs and
other working dogs are welcome in all parts of the theatre.

By Car
Durham is served by excellent roads. The A1/A1(M) motorway provides fast, easy access from the South. From the North choose from the A1 coastal route or the A68 cross-country route to Durham. Head for Durham City Centre, and Gala is clearly signposted.
Car Parking
Walkergate multi-storey car park is located 30 seconds walk from Gala, with a cheap evening rate after 6pm, and is easily reached via the slip road under Milburngate bridge or via Freeman Place. Prince Bishops car park off the A690 is 5 minutes walk away and also has an evening tariff after 6pm.
By Bus

By Train
Gala is a 10 minute walk from Durham Station, which is serviced regularly from both North and South on the East Coast mainline service. From the station, follow signs for the City Centre.
